1st day in the field - Brazos Bend with Caleb

Not a bad way to spend two hours in the morning before Conference:

Anhinga

Black-bellied Whistling Duck

Common Grackle

American Coot

Common Gallinule
Oh yeah, they have these too.
Alligators

Grackle - I think Great Tailed (but could be Boat Tailed)

A bad picture of a Pied-Billed Grebe

Little Blue Heron

Bad picture of Red-Bellied Woodpecker

Red-winged Blackbird

Yellow-crowned Night Heron

Picture of the day

As we pulled up to the house, we saw our friend Mourning Doves sitting on the hose holder

  2. The first time I saw a Night Heron was running through downtown Peoria, Arizona. I thought it was one of the coolest birds I'd ever seen--still think so!
